HITRON, a family owned closely held company was incorporated during 1996, commenced production of halogenated powder for dry dressing of seeds. Subsequently, it was converted into a liquid formulation and test verified its effects. The liquid formulation showed better effects on the physiological quality of seeds. With a view to invigorate the seeds further, we included the botanical extracts and protein-cum-mineral rich preparations into the formulation.
Off late, to match the present day needs of the seed industry, we amalgamated two more constituents into the formulation, namely, a good polymer (for binding) and seed friendly colors (for aesthetic look) through scientific testing. Thus, the present formulation is transformed into a 3-in-1 product, where the halogenations process, herbal extracts and the proteins-cum-minerals takes care of the seed quality, the polymer binds the agro-chemicals and the colors impart aesthetic look to the seeds making it an unique product in the market.
Hitron Bio Seed Coating Private Limited was exclusively incorporated to cater the export market with 100% EOU licence from the government of India and in order to comply with International requisites of the Industry.
A state of art production facility for herbal extract and polymer formulation is installed in the licenced plant to manufacture 400 Metric Tons of polymer per annum.
Research laboratory with controlled germination facility along with a fully equipped R&D centre has been setup to conduct more scientific studies.

HITRON group of companies was envisaged by the learned and proficient Senior Seed Technologist Prof. Dr. C. Dharmalingam, who served and headed, the prestigious Seed Science and Technology Department of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore for more than 35 years. His specialized research area was Control of seed deterioration and seed invigoration for better productivity and extended storability of seeds.

Mr. Santhosh Prabu Dharmalingam, a commerce graduate and son of prof. Dr.C.Dharmalingam has been with his father throughout his carrier and imbibed his knowledge on various field of seed research. He holds the patent right of the Halogention process in India and has rich experience in running the parent company right from its inception.
